Nobody hands you the life you imagine. You build it — one early morning at a time.
For years, I was the man behind other people's success. As the founder and CEO of MotorCity Digital Marketing, I helped business after business find their voice, their customers, their moment. I was proud of every single one. But late at night, a question kept following me home: when does the builder get to build something of his own?
THE RITUAL
MotorCity Digital Marketing wasn't built in a boardroom. It was built at 5 a.m. — laptop open, coffee in hand, chasing the next move while the world slept. That cup of coffee was never just a drink. It was discipline. It was the promise I made myself every morning: get up, do the work, become undeniable.
And somewhere in those mornings, I fell in love with the craft behind the cup. Why did one coffee taste alive — bright, sweet, unforgettable — and another taste like nothing? The answer was origin. Coffee carries the land it grew in. Taste it, and you taste a place, a farmer, a story.
A YEAR AND A HALF OF PATIENCE
Dreams are free. Building them isn't. Arverra took about a year and a half to build before we sold a single bag — sourcing single-origin coffees from Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala and beyond, refining every roast, designing every box to feel like the quality inside it. There were cheaper ways. Faster ways. I refused all of them. If my name was going on it, it was going to be worth yours.
That's why every Arverra coffee carries its origin on the front. FROM EARTH. BY ORIGIN. isn't a tagline we focus-grouped — it's the standard I hold myself to, printed where everyone can see it.
PROOF THAT IT'S POSSIBLE
Today, Arverra is live at arverracoffee.com and on Walmart.com — single-origin coffees, coffee pods, ceremonial matcha, and ROOTED, our mushroom coffee — built by the same hands and the same mornings that built MotorCity. No investors handed me this. No shortcut carried me. Just a ritual, a standard, and a refusal to quit.
So here's what I want you to take from my story: the thing you've been helping everyone else build — you can build it for yourself. Start earlier than you feel ready. Hold a standard higher than anyone asks of you. Put your name on your work — and then protect that name with everything you've got.
This is my name. This is my work. This is Arverra.
